Electrostatic Air Filters

Electrostatic filters are a type of permanent, washable filter designed to replace panel filters or frame type air filters you currently use in your heating and air conditioning equipment.  These filters combine mechanical air filtration and static electricity to remove dust particles from the air.

As air passes through electrostatic filters, a static charge is created within the filter.  Dust particles are attracted to the filter and remain trapped there until the filter is washed.

Electrostatic air filters remove a very high percentage of contaminants from the air but at the same time have little effect on air flow.  This allows the air conditioning or heating equipment to operate at maximum efficiency while at the same time removing a high percentage of contaminants from the air.

Electrostatic furnace filters are not the most efficient filter you can get for your central air conditioner or furnace. There are two furnace filters that are more efficient than electrostatic filters but they are not a necessarily a better choice. The first one is the electronic air filter and the other one is the HEPA air filter.
